After every project, pieces of sheet are left over. cutlistlab keeps them and uses them first in your next project. In this video: offcut stock, saving projects, and syncing with your phone.
Offcuts under the plan0:14
Under the plan are the offcuts you keep, with size and area. Only pieces with a short side of about six inches count. That limit is written right there: anything smaller is waste.
Mark a project Done, Offcuts0:28
Under Projects you mark a project as Done with the check mark. Its usable offcuts then go automatically to Offcuts in the menu. Each piece shows which project it came from: here, from the TV unit.
Adding an offcut by hand0:43
If you already have scraps in the shed, add them by hand: material, length and width, and the thickness. Here a piece of plywood, forty-seven by twenty-four inches, three quarters thick. With Add offcut it is in the list, with the label added manually.
Using offcuts in a new project1:02
Then a new project. The menu has Parts from CSV. There we paste two rows from a spreadsheet, three parts in total. Your offcut stock joins in by itself. A piece only waits until you have really cut it. For that, Offcuts has the button I have cut this. After that the offcut is used automatically: you see the orange dashed line and the label from offcut stock.
In use, Release and Use here1:29
In Offcuts you see which piece this project uses. With Release you let it go: it returns to the stock and another project can take it. It works the other way round too: with Use here you set a piece aside for this project yourself.
Searching and opening projects1:46
Everything you make, cutlistlab saves automatically under Projects, on this device. Search, open, delete: you never have to save anything. We open the TV unit again, and go back to the cutting plan.
Export and Load project2:01
Want a backup, or to move a project to another device: choose Export, Export project file. You get a file and the message File exported. On the other device you load it via Load project.
Account and syncing2:16
Prefer automatic? Click Sign in at the top right. No account yet? With Register you create one for free. Then your projects and your offcuts are on your computer and on your phone, always in sync. Without an account everything works too, just locally.

Lists in and out: you read parts via Parts from CSV, pasted from Excel or Numbers. And via Export, Cut list as CSV you get the cut list back as a file, for example for a quote.

A tip: print a label for every offcut, with the Labels button. The label carries the same code as the app, so you find a piece in your shed straight away.
